MO KATOA SCOUTS
ACTIVITIES OF TROOP. NO PARADE THIS FRIDAY. There was practically a full muster of Mo Katoa Scouts at the last parade, the first after the school holidays. Entertainers’ badges were presented to Patrol Leader W. Kerslake and Second M. Whittaker, both of the Karoro Patrol. Second Whittaker made his badge himself. Owing to extreme idifficulty in procuring badges, the Scouts, it was stated, would have to show their initiative in providing their own awards. Patrol Leader P. J. Robbins, of the Kiwi Patrol, received his second class badge and Mark Gleeson, of the same patrol, his first year service star.
Troop Leader J. Camden has found it necessary to tender his resignation. The troop’s best wishes were extended to him for his future success. Scout W. Knowles has been appointed quartermaster. Scout D. Curry, who is leaving for Wellington, has left the troop. There will be no parade next Friday. A Court of Honour will be held in the Den tonight at 7 o’clock.
