ORDER OF DRUIDS
TOTARA LODGE MEETING. The half yearly meeting of Totara Lodge No. 3 U.A.O.D. was held last night, Arch Druid Bro H. J. Bassett being in the chair. ■ Several declarations on and off the sick fund were received, after which the sum of £5O was passed for sick pay and accounts. The election of officers resulted as follows:—Arch Druid Bro H. J. Bas-! sett; vice Arch-Druid Bro H. Bain; secretary, Bro E. McKenzie; treasurer. Bro R. Smith; Inner Guard, Bro W. 0. Gcange; Outer Guard, Bro A. Stretton; Arch Druid Bards, Bros. R. McKenzie and C. C. Geange; Vice Arch Bards, Bros. Walter Hart and Harold Hodder; musician, Bro. C. C. Kitchen; M.C., Bro A. J. Dew.
It was resolved that the installation of officers be held on the next lodge night, June 14, to which sister lodges will be invited and entertained. It was decided that it be a pound night and members were asked to provide a plate.
In connection with his election as chairman of the Wairarapa South County Council, it was decided that a letter of congratulation be forwarded to P.D.P. Bro Austin Reid. As the books close for the audit in a few days, members are requested to make themselves financial.
Personal Items. Captain and Mrs Waite, who have been in charge of the Carterton Salvation Army for some time past, and who will take up new quarters at Blenheim, will be tendered a farewell . social gathering in the Army Barracks tonight. The Carterton Municipal Band will be in attendance. The 80th birthday of Mr T. W. Henderson, of Carterton, was celebrated at the Clareville Hall on Saturday eevning when his family gave a party in his honour. A number’ of intimate friends were present and a most enjoyable time was spent. The health of Mr Henderson was toasted with enthusiasm. A wish was expressed that Mr Henderson would continue to enjoy good health for many years. Among those present were four generations of the’ family. Seven-a-side Football Tourney. A seven-a-side football tournament for all grades will be played on the Carterton Showgrounds on Monday next, commencing at 1.30 p.m. sharp. REGENT THEATRE NEW PROGRAMME. The new programme at the Regent Theatre will commence tonight.
