LATE MR W. H. DAY

LARGELY ATTENDED FUNERAL. The high regard in which the late Mr W. H. Day was held was shown by the large number of residents who attended his funeral yesterday. The service held at St Luke's Church was opened with the singing of the deceased’s favourite hymn, “The Strife is O’er.” The Rev J. C. Abbott officiated. As the coffin was being taken from the church the choir sang the Nunc Dimittis. Past Chief Ranger W. Wiggins read the Forresters Lodge service. Among others beautiful wreaths were received from the following:— St Luke’s Ladies Guild, St. Luke’s Choir, St. Luke’s Church vestry, Mayor and Councillors of the Greytown Borough Council, Greytown Town Lands Trust, Wairarapa Forresters Lodge, Greytown Football Club, South Wairarapa Working Men’s Club, Greytown Bowling Club, and the Greytown Fruitgrowing Company The pallbearers were Messrs F.
