CANADIAN ARMY
READY TO SERVE ANYWHERE. OTTAWA, May 14. The Minister of National Defence. Mr J. L. Ralston, when speaking in the Canadian House of Commons of the 3,890,000.000 dols. war appropriation made it clear that the Canadian Army overseas, in whole or in part, was available to be used wherever it could most successfully help in the common cause. Mr Ralston said he had told Mr Churchill that the Canadian Government did not stipulate in any way that the army must be used as a whole. Lieutenant-General A. G. L. McNaughton had also given an assurance. that he would be in complete agreement with the army being used in different theatres if such was considered of strategic necessity by the High Command. The strength of the overseas army in March, 1943, was 190,000.
