KING OF YUGOSLAVIA
DESIRE FOR EARLY MARRIAGE.
OPPOSED BY MAJORITY OF MINISTERS. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) LONDON, May 29. Three members of the Yugoslav Government in London favour and six oppose the desire of King Peter for his speedy marriage with Princess Alexandra of Greece. His mother, Queen Marie, is believed to favour the marriage, but opponents believe that Peter should wait till Yugoslavia is free. Others think his marriage would enhance prestige among the patriots who are resisting the Axis. The fact that some members of the Yugoslav Government are reported to favour the early marriage of King Peter and Princess Alexandra is not expected to affect the decision that the marriage must wait till after the war, says the “Daily Mail,” which adds that the personal secretary to Queen Marie said there was no change in the arrangement to postpone King Peter’s marriage.
