FIGHTER SUPPORT

FOR EXTENSIVE BOMBING RAIDS ON FRANCE AND THE LOW COUNTRIES. TWO FOCKE-WULFS SHOT DOWN. LONDON, May 31. R.A.F. bombers, supported by fighters, attacked targets in. Northern France and the Low Countries today. Venturas raided Zeebrugge, in Belgium, Mitchells went to Flushing in Holland and more Venturas attacked the docks at Cherbourg and an airfield in France. All the bombers returned. Spitfires supporting the Venturas in the raid on Zeebrugge shot down two Focke Wulf 190 s. One Canadian fighter is missing.
