Lieutenant-Colonel Jacosalem, commander of the Filipino-American foices on Cebu Island, and nine Allied officers, have surrendered to the Japanese, according to an announcement broadcast by the Manila radio. Lieu-tenant-Colonel Jacosalem has participated in guerilla operations against the Japanese since September, 1942, maintaining contact with similar forces on other islands by radio. The Japanese troops have been mopping up the Visaya district, in Cebu, since May 1. The radio added that a few Americanorganised Morotribe troops were still resisting the Japanese.
