ARRESTED IN SPAIN
JEWISH AND ARAB YOUTHS DEPORTED TO MOROCCO. OTHER ANTI-ALLIED ACTIONS. (By Telegraph—‘Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 1.25 p.m.) LONDON, May 30. The Spanish police have arrested about 300 Jewish and Arab youths, most of whom have been deported to ( Spanish Morocco, reports “The Times” Tangier correspondent. The French Consul-General is reported to have supplied a full list of volunteers foi work in Allied-controlled French Morocco, thus helping the police to make the arrests. It is clear that the Spanish authorities intentionally initiated the movement as an anti-Allied demonstration. German influence throughout Spanish Morocco is stronger than ever and terror reigns in the Jewish colony. Jewish employees of British firms constantly fear arrest for serving British interests. The police picketed the printing office of the local British newspaper, the “Tangier Gazette,” to prevent its publication. Employees, to avoid arrest and deportation, remained on the premises, where they were fed.
