ACTIVE IN KERCH STRAITS GERMAN LOSSES IN SHIPS & AIRCRAFT. KUBAN POSITION UNDEFINED. LONDON. May 28. In Russia both sides report sharp fighting north-east ol: Novorossisk. While Berlin states that the Red Army lias launched an offensive, Moscow reports only speak ol' German attacks.
German aircraft and shipping, attempting to carry supplies to Novorossisk across the Kerch Straits, are being hammered day and night by thq Russian Black Sea Fleet and the Red Air Force. Eight enemy supply ships have been sunk or damaged in the past three days and 131 German aircraft have been shot down in the last 48 hours.
