AIR FORCE RELATIONS
MEETING OF MASTERTON COMMITTEE. MANY DONORS THANKED. At the monthly meeting of the Air Force Relations Committee, held in Masterton, the following members were present: Mesdames Lord (in the chair), S. J. Gill, G. W. Sellar, A. Harcombe and Miss M. Patrick. Several letters were received expressing gratitude for the goods sent overseas. Headquarters forwarded a letter of interest to all helpers from the New Zealand War Services Association, London. It stated: “We thank you most sincerely for the bale of woollen garments and two cases of tinned goods which .have just come to hand. Some of the woollies have already been given out, for never a day goes past without a number of requests. The gloves are especially welcome. We are very grateful for the tinned goods, for it will enable us to send larger parcels to the lads in hospital. We look forward to receiving the polo necked pullovers and the flying boot stockings. Would you please convey to your committee our heartfelt appreciation of their kind and prompt reply to our requests, and the thanks of the lads who are, and will be, benefiting.” Headquarters reported that the branch would have an extra 1000 lbs. of wool per month.
