FOR GERMAN & ITALIAN WORRY STALIN’S LETTER OF REPLY TO ROOSEVELT. DAVIES CONCLUDES MISSION. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Cppyright) (Received This Day, 11.25 a.m.) LONDON, May 27. M. Stalin has replied to a letter sent him by President Roosevelt. The reply was handed today to Mr Joseph Davies, who delivered Mr Roosevelt’s letter to M. Stalin. “The contents of the letter are exclusively for President Roosevelt,” said Mr Davies, in announcing that he would return to America immediately He added: “I can make no comment either directly or by inference about what the letter contains.” The Associated Press Moscow correspondent says Russian papers toda> publish a picture showing M. Stalin Mr Davies and M. Molotov at the Kremlin as Mr Davies wound up his business and is prepared to leave Moscow. M. Stalin is smiling and M Molotov looks most satisfied,” add: the correspondent. “The picture shoulc add to the nervous worries of Ger many and Italy.
