WEDDING
WILLIAMS—GRAY. The marriage took place at the Knox Presbyterian Church, Masterton, on Saturday afternoon, of Dorothy Joan, only daughter of Mr and Mrs W. T. Gray, of Perry Street, Masterton, and P.F.C. Laurel G Williams, U.S.M.C., eldest son of Mr and Mrs B. Williams, of Montana, U.S.A. The church was artistically decorated. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. David McNeur, and Mr C. W. Kerry presided at the organ. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a turquoise blue frock with a halo hat and matching veil. Her bouquet was of pink and white chrysanthemus and maidenhair fern. Miss Joan Griffin, of the W.A.A.C., was bridesmaid. She wore a dusky pink frock with turban hat to match, and wore a corsage spray of blue flowers.
Corporal J. Schlickting, of the U.S.M.C., was best man.
The reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents, where a number of guests were entertained. Mrs Gray wore a cinnamon-coloured ensemble with a corsage spray to tone. Mr James Watt, of Wellington, was toastmaster. When Mr and Mrs Williams left for the north, the bride wore a blue ensemble with matching accessories.
