COURSING

SUCCESSFUL MEETING HELD AT MASTERTON NAPIER DOG WINS MAIDEN CUP. OPEN TO TRACER BULLET. The Wairarapa Coursing Club held a most sucessful two-day meeting, at the Akura Plumpton, Masterton, during the week-end. Dogs from Auckland, Napier, Hastings, Dannevirke and Wellington competed against Wairarapa entries, and splendid coursing resulted. There were large attendances at the meetings. The next meeting will be held on June 6, when the New Zealand Derby Oaks and the Physick Cup will be featured on the card.

Results of the semi-finals and finals are: —

Aebisher Cup (Maiden Stake). — Semi-final: Stalin (Mr C. Taylor, N.S., Auckland) beat Eclipse (Mrs U. Baking, Hastings), 1/0; Just Bet (S. Swanson, Napier) beat Lucky Cinders (Miss J. Hanley, Masterton), 1/0. Final. —Just Bet beat Stalin, 4-1/0.

Archer Cup (open). —Second round: Tracer Bullet (H. Fannin, Hastings) beat Ulla Marie (G. Forman, Masterton), 1/0; Desert Gold (L. Gray, Masterton) beat Back Loop Slam (Mrs W. Williams, Masterton), 1/0. Soviet Union (T. Richards, Auckland) beat The Admiral (Mr J. Hanley, Masterton), 6/4.

Final. —Tracer Bullet beat Desert Gold, 5/0.
