SOUTH FEATHERSTON

PATRIOTIC EFFORT CARD TOURNEY & DANCE. (“Times-Age” Special.) The euchre tourney and dance held in the South Featherston Hall by the War Service Committee was well patronised, visitors being present from all parts of the Wairarapa. The music was provided by Udy’s Orchestra, extras being played by Pte. Chaplaw. The Monte Carlo waltzes were won by Margaret Rasmussen and partner and Mrs Batchelor and partner. The card winners were: —Ladies: Mrs It Fuge, 1; Mrs G. Cuff, 2. Men: Mr R. Tocker, 1; Mr Thurston, 2. Supper was provided by a ladies’ committee. A bag donated by Mrs Sorensen was won by Jim Foss. Personal. Mrs Bain is visiting her daughter, Mrs O'Brien, Dunedin. Pte. Myrene Dick was a weekend guest of Mrs Brodersen, South Featherston.

Mrs S. Burt who has been staying with relatives has left for Auckland. Mrs Wilton has returned home after spending a few days with her sister, Mrs A. G. Burt, Ngawprua.

Mrs and Miss Hocquard are visiting Wellington.

Miss Ngaire Gain is staying with Mrs Edwards, Upper Hutt. Mrs H. W. Willis has returned home after a few days spent at Palmerston North.

Mr and Mrs D. G. Robertson are spending a holiday at Hastwells.
