WEDDING
LEA—HAMILL. St. Patrick’s Church, Masterton, was the scene of a pretty wedding on Saturday, the contracting parties being Mary, only daughter of Mr and Mrs P. Hamill, Masterton, and Sergt. James William Lea, son of Mrs Clarke and the late Mr James Lea, Falmouth. Kentucky, U.S.A. The Rev. Father N Moore officiated and also celebrated Nuptial Mass. Mrs A. R. Bunny presided at the organ. The bride, who was given away by her father, looked charming in a gown of satin taffeta cut on simple fitting lines to form a long train. The bodice was close fitting and the sleeves were wrist length. Her bridal veil was arranged to fall over the face, and was crowned with a spray of white roses. She carried a bouquet of white chrysanthemums, carnations and maidenhair fem. The bride was attended by her two cousins, Miss Margaret Sinclair, Stratford, and Miss Josephine Hanley, Masterton, as bridesmaids. They wore pretty frocks of white taffeta, and theii headdresses were of pink flowers. Shoulder-length veils were worn. The bridesmaids carried shower bouquets. Q.M. Sergt. A. Brockmeyer, St. Louis, Missouri, was best man, and Private George A. Lockwood. Chicago, Illinois, was groomsman. After the ceremony the guests were entertained at the American Services Club, where the usual toasts wore honoured. , When Sergt. and Mrs Lea left on their honeymoon, later in the day, the bride wore a grey costume and hat with navy accessories.
