HOCKEY

WAIRARAPA ASSOCIATION COMPETITIONS SENIOR & JUNIOR GRADE. Hockey supporters were treated to two exciting games at Lansdowne on Saturday, the first being the junior game between Excelsior and Sincerity. Sincerity scored two goals in the first 15 minutes of the game but from then on Excelsior had the best of things, to be 4 to 2 with about 15 minutes to go. The game then changed completely and Sincerity only once let Excelsior out of their own half, the final score being 4 all. The Excelsior and Carterton senior game was won by Excelsior owing to their forwards finishing off their movements better than their opponents. Both sets of backs were very sound, the stopping of the ball with their sticks being a treat to watch. RESULTS AT A GLANCE. Men’s Games. Old Boys 7; Air Force 2. Senior Ladies. Excelsior 3; Carterton A 0. Carterton B 4; Kia Ora 2. Greytown 6; College 0. Junior Ladles. Excelsior 4; Sincerity 4. Cartertdn, a bye.
