BIBLE SOCIETY BRANCH ANNUAL MEETING. (“Times-Age!,’ Special.) At the annual meeting of the Featherston branch of the British and Foreign Bible Society, the Rev. J. R. Higgs presided over a fair attendance of members. Mrs Wakelin, organising secretary for the Wellington Province, spoke of the work of the Society here and abroad. The election of afficers resulted: — President, the Rev. H. Bloomfield; vicepresidents, Mesdames Higgs, Bloomfield, Bladen, Peene, A. Clark, Miss E. Wilkinson; secretary and treasurer, Miss Goodrick. Afternoon tea was served at the conclusion of the meeting. Personal, Mrs J. A. Doctor and Mrs Ashton. Wellington, have been the guests of Miss Donald, “Tarureka.” Mr E. Algie, who is a patient in the Greytown Hospital is reported to be making satisfactory progress. Miss Joyce Hatton, Te Awamutu, is home for the holidays. Miss Joan McKenzie, Wellington, is visiting her parents, Mr and Mrs J. M. McKenzie. COSY THEATRE TWO BIG FEATURES. Two big features are starred in the programme to be presented at the Cosy Theatre this evening. “This Time for Keeps,” a gay comedy, has Ann Rutherford, Robert Stirling and Guy Kibbee in the leading roles. In “Half Way to Shanghai,” a mystery thriller, Irene Hervey and Kent Taylor take the principal parts.
