RUGBY FOOTBALL
UNION ENDEAVOURING TO MAINTAIN GAME. MATCHES AT CARTERTON ON SATURDAY. The Wairarapa Rugby Union is mak- ( ing every endeavour to keep the game of Rugby going in the district this season. The Union will hold its annual meeting in Carterton on Saturday night, May 22, when the form that this year’s competition will take will be decided. In the meantime clubs are asked by the Union to sort out their players so that they will be able to indicate at the meeting what can be expected in the way of players. A friendly match will be played between teams from the Masterton and Carterton clubs at Carterton on Saturday afternoon. The Masterton A and B teams will be chosen from the following: — Fly (2), Gray (2), Colban, Thorne, Cliff, Paterson, Logan, Perry, Simonsen (3), O'Shea (3), Morgan, Batty, Wishart, Gill, Broughton, Smith, Duley, Lang, Porter, Davies, Dewar, Clay, McNab and Munn.
