FEATHERSTON

WOMEN’S INSTITUTE MEETING AND DANCE. (“Times-Age” Special.) Mrs Hood presided over a fair attendance of members of the Kahutara Women’s Institute at the Kahutara Hall yesterday. Mrs Hood gave a lengthy and interesting report on the council meeting held in Carterton. Arrangements were completed for a dance. The competition winners were: — Best bloom: Mrs Duffy, 1; Mrs Wilson, 2. Tea was served by the members present. In the evening a dance was held in the Kahutara Hall. Mr Rendle was M.C., and the music was supplied by Udy’s Orchestra. Miss Tocker played extras. A spot dance competition was won by Mr and Mrs Henderson, and a Monte Carlo competition by Mr John Pope and Miss Beverly Suther■land. The euchre tourney winners were: —Ladies: Mrs Matenga, 1; Fluty, 2. Men: Mr Wood, 1. Supper was provided by members of the Institute. A competition for a dinner was won by Mr Lea. Personal. Mrs S. Howell is spending a holiday with relatives, in the Hawke s Bay district. Mrs S. Kilsby left today for Wellington, where she will visit relatives. COSY THEATRE MERRY MUSICAL COMEDY. “She’s My Lovely,” described as a merry musical comedy overflowing with the gaiety and vitality of youth, will be shown at the Cosy Theatre this evening. Gloria Jean and Donald O’Connor are in the featured roles.
