TOWNSWOMEN’S GUILD

MEETING IN MASTERTON. A meeting of the Masterton Townswomen’s Guild was held yesterday, the president, Mrs Copp, presiding over a large attendance of members. The golden thread was given briefly by Mrs Shouler. Mrs McMinn rendered two solos entitled “Maclushla” and “In. a Little Old Garden.” Mrs AV. H. Judd gave ah interesting talk on the Waitomo Caves. In the absence of the president, Mesdames Snowsill and Brown placed a wreath on the Soldiers’ Memorial on Anzac Day. The result of the competition, a fruit and vegetable posy, was: Mrs Snowsill, 1; Mrs Davis Goff, 2; Mrs Jamieson, 3. Mrs Munn gave a demonstration of making a cretonne work box. The meeting closed with the singing of the National Anthem.
