“A FARCE”

WAIRARAPA REHABILITATION BOARD. FARMERS NOT REPRESENTED. A decision that the attention of the. Rehabilitation Board be drawn to the fact that there were no farmers’ representatives on the Wairarapa committee was made at yesterday afternoon's meeting of the Masterton County Council, although, it was stated, the district was a farming area. “If the Government thinks it can get on without the farmers it’s all right, but it seems a farce to me,” said Mr R. E. Gordon Lee, chairman. He said the council had never been asked to appoint a representative. He was not looking for another job but the farmers should be represented. Mr J. W. Colquhoun: “The board should have its attention drawn to the matter.” It was unanimously decided to write to the board on the lines suggested by Councillor Colquhoun.
