TAUERU

DANCE IN SCHOOL GATHERING ON SATURDAY NIGHT. (“Times-Age” Special.) A dance held in the Taueru School on Saturday night by the bachelors and spinsters of the district proved most succesful. There was a large attendance, Masterton residents being well represented. The music was supplied by Te Tau’s orchestra, and Mr T. Waitere was M.C. Novelty dances were held, a statue dance being won by Miss Dawn Olliver and Mr Trevor Loader. A Monte Carlo waltz was won by Mr and Mrs J. Houghton. A lucky spot competition was won by Mrs Ihaka and partner. Songs were contributed by Misses Miller and Mary Mangai. Supper was served by a ladies’ committee.
