SCOUTS & CUBS
ACTIVITIES OF MOKATOA TROOP
At the weekly Friday night parade of the Mokatoa Scout troop, the usual Scout work and instruction were carried out.
Scout D. Torr passed the Tenderfoot test and was invested into the Scouts. Second G. Curry was handed his fourth year service star and Scout W. Knowles his third year star. Second G. Curry and Second P. Robbins were given the second white stripe to wear on their left pockets, marking their promotion to patrol leaders. The parade concluded with the monthly recitation of the Scout Law by the troop. There was a fair attendance at the usual Mokatoa Cub parade, considering the school holidays had started. The usual Cub work was carried out .and various tests for the first and second stars were passed. On Saturday afternoon the Cubs of St Matthew’s No. 1 and 2 packs joined with the Mokatoa pack and an enjoyable time was spent. After many lively games afternoon tea was warmly welcomed by the boys. The gathering ended with a hearty grand howl.
