FOR SERVICE ON RUSSIAN FRONT FORMATION AUTHORISED. GESTAPO CHIEF IN POLAND KILLED. (By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright) LONDON, May 9. The Moscow'radio announced that the Council of People’s Commissars has granted an application by Polish patriots in the Soviet Union to form a Polish division for the joint struggle with the Red Army against the German invaders. Its formation, under the name of the Kosciusko Division, has already been begun. In Poland an execution squad of Poles in daylight a week ago waylaid General Kruger, who was the Gestapo chief in Poland, and riddled him with tommy-gun bullets, says the "Sunday Express.” Kruger died some days later. The assailants escaped. Kruger was chiefly responsible for the Polish terror.
