WAIRARAPA EXECUTIVE.
MEETING AT TE ORE ORE
(“Times-Age” Special.) A meeting of the Wairarapa Tribal Executive Committee was held at To Ore Ore at the weekend. There was a large attendance of delegates from all the Tribal Committees in the Wairarapa. Mr P. H. Paku presided. The Recruiting Officer, Lieutenant Manihera, submitted a report of tne various activities during the past few months. The chairman who was supported by several delegates, eulogised the work of Lieut. Manihera and considered that his efforts compared more than favourably with officials in other centres.
It was resolved that at its next meeting the delegates who were present at the Rotorua conference prepare a report of the proceedings for submission to the Minister. A motion of condolence in _ the death of the Hon. P. Paikea, Ministei in Charge of the Maori War Effort, was carried in silence. The motion was moved by Mr P. 11. Paku and was supported by Mr D. Tamihana. The next meeting will bo hold at Grey town.
