PEACE & JUSTICE
LETTER TO ROMAN CATHOLIC BISHOPS FROM PAPAL SECRETARY OF STATE. MONTH OF SPECIAL PRAYER. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. In a letter addressed to Cardinal Magliene,. the Vatican Secretary of State to Pope Pius XII, invites the bishops of the Catholic world to call on their people again, as in preceding years, to make the month of May a month of special prayer for the needs of humanity and the attainment of a just peace. He recalls again that the present struggle is a consequence of man’s rejection of Divine guidance and teachings, and once more exhorts a return to religion and honesty of life. He urgges on mankind a resolve upon the leading of a life more in conformity with Christian standards /and expresses a hopeful wish that a Christian peace may soon end the present terrible conflict.
