The St. John Ambulance will hold a dance in the Masonic Hall tomorrow night, when a large attendance is anticipated. Mr J. Barnes’s orchestra will supply the music, and the usual novelty dances will be featured. The proceeds are for the brigade’s funds and the worthy work of the St. John Ambulance Brigade is known to all.

Butchers Closing on Monday. In response to several inquiries, Mr S. R. McKenzie, secretary of the Mana-watu-Wairarapa Employers’ Association, has advised that local grocers have decided not to observe a holiday on Monday, May 3, in substitution for Anzac Day. All butchers’ shops will close, but other retailers will be open as usual on Monday next.
