WEDDING

McGuinness—Matthews.

The Lansdowne Presbyterian Church, Masterton, was the scene of a quiet but pretty wedding on Saturday last when Doreen Mona, only daughter of Mrs and the late Mr H. R. Matthews, Te Ore Ore Road, Masterton, was married to Bryan Ronald, second son of Mr and Mrs N. N. McGuinness, Church Street, Masterton. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. David McNeur, and Miss M. McNeur presided at the organ. The bride, who was escorted by Mr F. Greenwood, wore a becoming frock of powder blue embossed crepe with accessories to tone. She carried . a beautiful bouquet of pink and white flowers and maidenhair fern. The bridesmaid, Miss Freda Lennon, of Wellington, wore a model frock of dusky pink embossed crepe with black accessories. Her bouquet was of pink lilies, carnations and maidenhair fern. The duties of best man were carried out by Driver J. C. Wright, of Palmerston North. The reception was held at the home of the bride’s mother in Lansdowne. The guests were received by Mesdames Matthews and McGuinness, Mrs Matthews wearing a model .frock of brown marocain with brown accessories, and Mrs McGuinness a black tailored costume with black accessories. The usual toasts were honoured. Mr and Mrs B. R. McGuinness left later for the north, the bride wearing a blue tailored costume with pink accessories.
