SHOOTING SEASON PROSPECTS GOOD. (“Times-Age" Special.) Prospects for the shooting season in this district are good. Sportsmen are finding it difficult to obtain ammunition. Several have obtained licences, but so far have been unable to get ammunition. Wild Pigs and Deer. Wild pigs and deer are very numerous in this district. At the next meeting of the Wairarapa Tribal Executive Committee, which is to be held in Masterton, matters in connection with the Maori war effort will be discussed. Personal Items. Miss Dempster, dental clinic nurse, is visiting the local school. Mr and Mrs A. T. Spicer,' who have been popular residents of Pirinoa during the past 21 years, will shortly leave to take up their residence in another district. Meanwhile they will live temporarily at the Lake Ferry, pending the purchase of another farm. Mrs Evans, Tuhitarata, who has been a patient in a private hospital in Featherston for the past month, is making good progress towards recovery. Mr N. Hume, Masterton, was on a short visit to Pirinoa recently. Miss L. Flutey, Featherston, was the guest of Mrs Te Whaiti for a few days. Mr John Jones, who was staying with Mr and Mrs Bragg for the holidays, has returned to Wellington. Miss Greta Lovegrove has returned to Featherston after having spent the holidays with her parents. Mr and Mrs Allen, Lower Hutt, were the guests of their daughter, Mrs Hapi Sutherland, during Easter. , Mrs J. Carter has returned from Hastings.
