Appeal Board Sittings.
The Wairarapa Armed Forces Appeal Board will sit in Martinborough and Featherston on May 4, and in Eketahuna on May 6. The No. 2 Board (Napier) will sit in Masterton on May 10, 11 and 12. Remand Granted.
At the Masterton Magistrate’s Court this morning, before Messrs E. G. Eton and L. J. Taylor, J’s.P., James H. Knipe was remanded, on bail of £25, to May 6 on a charge that, with another person, he stole 20 gallons of petrol, valued at £2 12s Id, the property of C. E. Daniell, Ltd. “Return of the Messiah.”
At the Orange Hall last night, Miss Waterston, late of London, gave a lantern slide lecture on “The Signs in the Stars Heralding the Return of the Messiah.” The lecturer spoke of cosmic signs that would herald and attend the return of Christ with power to cleanse the earth and re-order it. Already these signs had commenced. Miss Waterston’s next lecture will be at the Masonic Hall on Sunday evening, and is entitled “Signs in Palestine and the Jew Heralding the Return of Messiah.”
