WEDDING

BIBBY—ROSSITER. A pretty wedding took place at the Gospel Hall, Masterton, recently, when Jean Elva, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs H. Rossiter, of Kopuaranga, was married to Corporal Raymond Robert Bibby, only son of Mr and the late Mrs R. J. Bibby, of Pahiatua. The church was beautifully decorated by friends of the bride. The ceremony was performed by Mr R. H. Brewerton, and Mr Lienert presided at the organ. This was the first wedding to be held in the Gospel Hall, and also the first wedding service to be conducted by Mr Brewerton.

The bride, who was escorted by her father, looked charming in a beautiful gown of cream slipper satin, cut on classical lines, with a long train. Her beautiful embroidered tulle veil, which formed a second train, was held in place with a halo of orange blossom. She carried a beautiful bouquet. The bride was attended by her sister, Miss Holly Rossiter, whose frock was of powder blue ripple silk georgette; it was cut on similar lines to that of the bride, and was trimmed with pink and blue velvet flowers. Her headdress was a matching pink net with a shoulder length veil and a halo of pink and blue velvet flowers. Her bouquet was of pink chrysanthemums, carnations and maidenhair fern. She wore a gold diamante pendant, the gift of the bridegroom. The duties of best man were carried out by Mr George Suisted, of Woodville.

A reception was afterwards held at the Cosy Lounge, where the bride's mother received her guests wearing a smart wine frock trimmed with gold, and a shoulder spray of pink begonias and maidenhair fern. She was assisted by the bridegroom’s sister, Miss Joyce Bibby, who was attired in a smart teal blue frock with shoulder spray of apricot roses and maidenhair fern. The usual toasts were honoured. The beautifully decorated wedding cake was made by Mrs L. Emery, cousin of the bride.

When Corporal and Mrs Bibby left on their honeymoon for Auckland, the bride travelled in a navy and white model frock, with matching accessories.
