REGENT THEATRE
“THE WAR AGAINST MRS HADLEY”
Comedy and drama mingle in the human story, “The War Against Mrs Hadley,” which will be finally shown tonight. ' DOUBLE FEATURE PROGRAMME. Tomorrow night there will be presented an excellent double programme, which should make an immediate appeal. “The Confessions of Boston Blackie,” the second of the new series of thrilling mysteries produced by Columbia and dealing with the exploits of fiction’s smoothest scoundrels, again introduces Chester Morris in the title role. Harriet Hilliard is featured, and other members of the cast are Richard Lane, Joan Woodbury, George E. Stone and Lloyd Corrigan. Edward Donytryk directed the picture, which is taken from a screen play by Paul Yawitz.
The other picture, “Smart Alecks,” features the East Side Kids in one of the most exciting pictures of the series. The “Kids” are seen at their best in one of the wildest action hits ever brought to the screen. The picture is different from the usual type and thrill follows thrill as the “Kids” set out on a great adventure.
