FEATHERSTON
ST. JOHN’S CHURCH R.S.A. PARADE. There were large congregations at all the Easter festival services at St John's Church on Sunday. In the evening a particularly inspiring Easter and Anzac service was held at which members of the Returned Services Association paraded and the “Ceremony of Light” performed. The Vicar of Featherston (the Rev J. R. Hggs) preached on Easter and the meaning and inspiration of Anzac Day. PERSONAL NOTES (“Times-Age” Special.) Mrs Marshall and Mr and Mrs J. W. Duffy, Wellington, have been the guests of Mr and Mrs S. Benton. Mr and Mrs Jenkins, Wellington, are the guests of Mrs Parsons. Aircraftman W. Juno, Ohakea, spent Easter at home. Miss Agnes Heath and Miss Joy Willis, Wellington, were visitors to Pahautea over the holidays. Mr and Mrs Herbert are visiting Wanganui, and are the guests of their daughter, Mrs S. Best. Mrs G. Boyce .is visiting Palmerston North.
Sister K. Clapshaw, who was on the staff of the Greytown Hospital, left yesterday for Dannevirke where she will take up duties as sister in charge of the children’s ward. Misses F. Jones and A. Jones, Wellington, are visiting relatives in Featherston.
Mr and Mrs C. de Montalk and Miss Mary de Montalk were the guests of Mrs Ritchie during Easter. Miss Mary Lamb, Wellington, was the guest of Mrs Bicknell, Kahutara, over Easter. Patriotic Dance. The Town Hall was packed to the doors on Saturday night when the Patriotic Dance Committee held a very successful dance. Ashton’s Orchestra supplied the music. Extras were played by Misses M. Tocker, G. Fraser and C. Saba. Mr Ashton was M.C. The dance committee supplied the supper, the tables' being beautifully decorated by Mrs Alexander.
COSY THEATRE “H. M. PULHAM, ESQ.” Tomorrow night’s programme will be headed by the excellent drama, “H. M. Pulham, Esq.,” featuring Robert Young, Hedy Lamarr and Ruth Hussey.
