OTTAWA, April 9.
Changes are announced in regulations covering payment of assigned pay and allowances to dependents of men in the armed forces who are reported killed or missing. In effect, the changes provide that dependents who were receiving the usual dependants’ allowances and assigned pay can be assured of continuing to receive approximately the same amount monthly for six months after the casualty is reported as killed or missing. The purpose of the regulations is to give dependants a period of not less than six months in which to make financial adjustments that may be necessitated by casualties.
