FOR COMFORTS RECEIVED FROM DOMINION.

LETTER TO PRIME MINISTER.

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day.

Appreciation of the manner in which the National Patriotic Fund Board, the Joint Council of the Order of St John and the New Zealand 'Red Cross Society, the Catholic Mission and other organisations are helping to alleviate the plight of New Zealand prisoners of war is expressed in a letter received by the Prime Minister (Mr Fraser) from Sergeant N. J. S. Plimmer, who is in Oflag 111 C, Germany. “As leader of our people amidst the chaos and misery of this war, please receive this note, out of Germany, in appreciation of all that is being done for we New Zealanders who have been taken prisoner,” writes Sergeant Plimmer. He adds that New Zealanders are the best cared for prisoners in Germany and sincerely appreciate all that has been and is being done for them by the people of New Zealand.

The Prime Minister has passed a copy of the letter on to organisations mentioned. He has also written to Sergeant Plimmer stating that the Government and people of the Dominion will do everything possible to assist war prisoners and adding: “We look forward with pleasure and eager anticipation to the day when you will all be reunited with your families and your homeland.”
