'The Japanese are making a determined attempt to dislodge the Chinese from the eastern tip of the Chungtiao mountains. Fighting was intensified when the Japanese threw additional troops into Honan. Both sides are suffering considerable losses in SouthEastern Shansi. A thousand enemy troops from Koping attacked Chinese positions west of Funcheng, but were turned back with heavy losses.
