AGRICULTURAL CLUB ANNUAL MEETING OF MEMBERS. (“Times-Age” Special.) The annual meeting of the Featherston Group of the Boys’ and Girls’ Agricultural Club was held yesterday. The balance sheet, showing a credit balance of £5 7s 3d, was adopted. The chairman, Mr Cole, thanked the members of the committee for their efforts during the past year, and also the ladies of Kahutara for having supervised the catering on the group judging day. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year: —Patron, Mr R. W. Matthews; president, Mr Cole; vicepresidents, Mr R. R. P. Hardy, Mr H. C. Playle; hon. auditor, Mr F. Hayes; hon. secretary, Mr L. G. Guthrie; committee, Messrs C. Buck, G. T. Cole, H. C. Playle, R. R. P. Hardy, F. Jansen, G. Farrier, D. Robertson, L. G. Guthrie, M. Scott; delegates to Centre, L. G. Guthrie, R. R. P. Hardy. Post Office Hours. On Good Friday and Easter Monday the Featherston Post Office will be closed in all its branches with the exception of the telephone exchange, which will remain open continuously. The Tauherenikau and Whangaimoana rural deliveries will be suspended. The Wharepapa rural delivery will run today instead of tomorrow. Service Club Euchre Party. At the weekly euchre party held at the Service Club, Mrs Kinsey and Mrs Sim tied for first place. Miss K. Ruane won a competition held. Personal. Mrs F. Clark entertained a large number of guests at her home on Saturday night when Miss Joyce Reading was the guest of honour. Miss Reading is to be married to Sergt. Haddad, U.S.M.C. An enjoyable time was spent. After supper Miss Reading was called upon to open the many parcels presented to her. Sergt. Haddad replied on behalf of Miss Reading. In Aid of Greek Children. The dinner competition conducted by Mrs S. Benton in aid of the Greek children was won by Mi’ M. B. Fuge, Kaiwaiwai. The amount collected was £9. COSY THEATRE ‘‘DON’T GET PERSONAL.” An excellent comedy, “Don’t Get Personal,” will be shown tonight. Mischa Auer and Jane Frazee are in the leading roles. A thrilling western drama, “Vengeance in the West,” will also be shown, with W. Elliott and Tex Ritter portraying the chief characters.
