EKETAHUNA

* ANZAC DAY COMBINED MEMORIAL SERVICE. (“Times-Age” Special.) A combined memorial service in commemoration of Anzac Day will be held in the Eketahuna Public Hall on Sunday at 1.30 p.m. when an address will be given by Mr T. Jordan, Mayor of Masterton. The Home Guard, E.P.S., Women’s War Service Auxiliary, Red Cross Society members, Boy Scouts, Girl Guides and Cubs are requested to take part in the parade which will leave the War Memorial at 1.15 p.m.

CROQUET CLUB SEASON CLOSED. At the closing of the season by the Eketahuna Croquet Club, Miss A. Anderson (president)’ welcomed the visitors on behalf of the club, and presented trophies to the following winners of the competitions:—Hurry scurry, Mesdames Fauvel and Earl (Hamilton); runners-up, Mesdames Reardon and Morrison; ladder, Mrs Watson (Pahiatua); runner-up, Mrs M. R. Herbert; ring target, Mrs Schaw, Woodville; golf, Mrs Watson, Pahiatua. The Ford-Hutchinson mallets were won by Mesdames R. Dixon and J. A. Taylor. ' Mesdames Gallagher and Dixon defeated Lansdowne and Mauriceville for the B buttons. Personal Items. Aircraftman and Mrs W. Jenson have been the guests of Mr and Mrs P. Jenson, Parkville. Miss Caldwell will spend Easter in Hamilton.

Mrs Castle, Tane, is on a visit to Masterton.
