CONFERENCE IN WELLINGTON ADDRESSES BY MINISTERS’ (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. Addresses by the Prime Minister, Mr Fraser, the Minister of Finance, Mr Nash, and the Minister of Supply Mr Sullivan, were among the main features at the opening session of the sixth annual conference of the New Zealand Federation of Labour in Wellington yesterday, which was presided over by the Minister of Industrial Manpower, Mr McLagan. There were also present the Minister of Internal Affairs, Mr Parry, the Minister of Transport, Mr O’Brien, and the Minister in Charge of Broadcasting, Mr Wilson. Mr Fraser reviewed the war situation, referring in particular to manpower, defence construction works, and the stabilisation plan, and thanked the federation for its co-operation during very difficult periods. Mr Nash dealt with his stay in America. Mr Sullivan gave figures covering New Zealand’s war production, and production for civilian consumption.

Mr Nash is expected to be present today during discussion on the stabilisation plan. Reference was made to the loss suffered by the Labour movement through the death of Mr H. T. Armstrong, Mr P. K. Paikea, Mr A. Cook, and Mr R. Seal, motions of condolence with the relatives being passed.
