CHINESE SOLDIER RESCUED. AFTER SPENDING FOUR MONTHS ALONE ON RAFT. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) LONDON, April 19. The amazing achievement of a Chinese sailor who has survived four months alone on a raft in the open sea is revealed by the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of War Transport, Mr Noel Baker. When his ship went down in darkness the Chinese swam about for a time and then clambered on to a raft which he found drifting. He rigged up equipment to catch rain water, and he lived on emergency rations for 60 days. Then he existed by catching birds and fish till he was rescued after 130 days.
