AT ANY MOMENT

ALLIED INVASION OF EUROPE STATEMENT BY CANADIAN PRIME MINISTER. POSSIBILITY OF UNFORESEEN DELAYS. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, April 19. Launching the fourth “Victory Loan” campaign for 110,000,000 dollars, at Toronto, the Canadian Prime Minister, Mr Mackenzis King, said: “We should be prepared for an invasion of Europe at any moment.” He added that while conditions now seemed to be favourable for a combined blow at German power in Europe delays might be made necessary by unforeseen events in one of other of the theatres of the global war. He also said that Germany must be completely defeated. Of the defeat of Italy there could be no doubt. The defeat of Japan was more remote, but none the less certain.
