HOMING PIGEONS

MASTERTON CLUB. RACE FROM NAPIER. The Masterton Homing Pigeon Club held a race on Saturday from Napier, an airline distance of 120 miles. The weather conditions were favourable and good flying times were recorded. The following were the placing’s: — A. Pinkney’s “Flying Ace” (time, 2hrs 35mins 36sccs), 1; L. Wickens’s “Sky Queen” (2hrs 38mins 17secs), 2; L. Wickens’s Lady Margaret (2hrs 38 mins 41secs), 3; Stewart & Son’s “Imperial King” (2hrs 51min 55secs) 4; Stewart & Sons “Young Stock” (2hrs 52mins 57secs) 5; N. Gardner’s “Nightly” (2hrs 53mins 53secs) 6. The following are the points winners: A. Pinkney 66 points, 1; Stewart & Sons, 65 points, 2; Grant & Forrester, 52 points, 3. The next races will be from Dannevirke and Hastings.
