AIR ATTACKS IN BURMA
BARGES FULL OF JAPANESE SUNK. DAMAGE DONE IN OTHER AREAS. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 9.50 a.m.) RUGBY, April 15. An Indian joint communique states: “Yesterday R.A.F. fighter patrols made several successful low-flying attacks on the enemy off Ramree Island. Six power-launches, full of Japanese troops, were sunk,- and on the Mayu River three launches and other craft were badly damaged. Enemy rolling stock and enemy troops were attacked at various positions and the Japanese headquarters near Yuwa, on the upper Chindwin, was bombed. None of our aircraft are missing.”
