FEATHERSTON
FELLOWSHIP OF YOUTH FAREWELL GATHERING. (“Times-Age” Special.) An enjoyable time was spent in the Parish Hall on Monday evening when the Fellowship of Youth entertained the Chilton St James School pupils to a farewell social gathering. Items were given by Chilton St James pupils, Miss Norma Benton, the Rev J. R. Higgs and the singing class. Miss O. Clapshaw made a presentation to Dorothy Raper, who had been secretary to the Fellowship and will leave shortly for Lower Hutt. The Fellowship provided supper. Euchre Party. At the patriotic euchre party on Monday afternoon Mrs O’Neale was the card winner. Competitions were won by Mesdames Muir and Carlyon. Donations were received from Mesdames N. Matthews, F. Cross and Q. Donald. Personal. The Presbyterian Hall was well filled on Monday night when a farewell social gathering was tendered to Mrs H. S. Burt, who is leaving the district after having resided here for 30 years. A musical programme was arranged by Mrs Arch Clark, who was the accompaniste. Items were given by Mesdames J- Anderson, W. Houston, Messrs S. Hunter, Duncan, Robertson, H. Bloomfield and J. Buck. Speeches were made by Mr M. Tait, Mrs A. Clark and the Rev H. Bloomfield who asked Mrs Burt to accept a cheque as a token of their esteem. COSY THEATRE “YOU BELONG TO ME.” “You Belong To Me,” an excellent comedy, will be shown tonight, with Edgar Buchanan and Roger Clarke m the leading roles.
