MEAT SUPPLIES

INADEQUATE IN BRITAIN USE OF SUBSTITUTES ESSENTIAL. LORD WOOLTON’S WARNING. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 12.26 p.m.) RUGBY, April 13.

Lord Woolton, in a speech, warned the oublic regarding meat supplies. “The simple fact,” he said, “is that.we have not got it, and that nothing we can do is going to enable us to have enough meat in this country to keep us fit by itself for the job we have to do. So we had better use our intelligence and our knowledge. We can now produce meals without any meat in them at all, which will keep us well and give us all the energy we need.”
