Miss B. Vallance, Cole Street, Masterton, is spending a few days in Wellington. Mr and Mrs J. E. Jenkins, Renall Street, Masterton, have been visiting Paraparaumu Beach. Among those wounded in the recent fighting in the Middle East is Sgmn. Keith M. Fauvel, of Eketahuna. Mr and Mrs J. G. F. Thompson, of Rimu Street, Lansdowne, left Masterton today on a month’s holiday. Mr W. E. Edwards, of Napier, is at present relieving Mr J. G. F. Thompson of the Union Bank of Australasia, who is on annual leave. Dr and Mrs Archer Hosking, Church Street, Masterton, who have been visiting Rawene, North Auckland, have returned to Masterton. The death occurred in the Wellington Hospital on Monday of Major Elliot Martin Christie, a master of Rongotai College till about a yeai ago. The engagement is announced of Olga, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs C. F. Mills, Masterton. to Sgt. Earl W. Schiller, son of Mrs I. Leipheimer, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, U.S.A.
