POPPY DAY

ANNUAL SALE ON FRIDAY.

Poppy Day will be held in the Wairarapa on Friday. As in past years, arrangements have been made to conduct street sales and a house to house canvass.

The net proceeds of Poppy Day sales in the Wairarapa are retained in the district for payment to ex-service men who are considered by the R.S.A. committee to be in need of assistance. Last year, the association granted £3lO in cash payments to those in need for the purchase of household requisites, fuel, etc. The association looks forward to the same generous response from the public of the district this year, as has been .the case in previous years.
