FEATHERSTON

LADIES’ GUILD KAHUTARA-PAHAUTEA MEETING. (“Times-Age” Special.) The Kahutara-Pahautea Ladies’ Guild held its monthly meeting at the residence of Mrs D. C. Collins, there being a good attendance. Members from the St. John’s Ladies’ Guild, Featherston, were also present. A successful “bring and .buy” stall was held. The winners of the competitions were Mesdames Randle, Elbe and Pope. Afternoon tea was provided by Mrs Collins. BOY SCOUTS ANNUAL MEETING. At the annual meeting of the Boy Scout Committee, Mr H. C. Hunter presided. The Scoutmaster (Mr C. McKenna) stated that there were now 40 boys on the troop roll and that an assistant Scoutmaster was needed. Miss A. Fellingham (Cubmaster) made a request that another Cubmaster be appointed as soon as possible. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows: Chairman, Mr W. J. Fellingham; secretary and treasurer, Miss A. Fellingham; auditor, Mr G. M. Browne; executive committee, Messrs W. J. Fellingham, Miss A. Fellingham, Mr C. McKenna, the Rev Bloomfield, the Rev J R. Higgs and Mr Howell; councillor to Scout County Council, Mr W. J. Fellingham. The balance-sheet showing a credit balance of £4 10s 8d was adopted. It was stated that since the drawing up of the balance sheet a debt of £5 12s had been incurred, and that there was now a debit balance. ■ Bowling. In a match for the Bidwill badges, the holders, Robinson, Hutana, Thompson and McNamara, beat the challengers, James, Rowles, O’Neale and Rolls. . In a progressive threes competition the winners were Robinson, Crawford and O’Neale. Personal. Mr and Mrs J. B. McKenna are spending a holiday in Auckland.
