BOMBS ON PALERMO
DAMAGE DONE TO HARBOUR AND RAILWAY STATION. ATTACKING PLANES ALL RETURN SAFELY. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 10.55 a.m.) RUGBY, April 12. A Middle East air communique states: “On Saturday night our heavy bombers attacked Palermo . Bombs were seen to burst south of the harbour, near warehouses and the Customs Depot. A fire was seen at the main railway station. All our aircraft returned safely.”
