EXPRESS MESSAGES
REGARDING PRISONERS OF WAR AFTER ABSENCE OF NEWS FOR THREE MONTHS. OFFICIAL CONDITIONS. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The Prisoners of War Enquiry Office.,, draws special attention to the express message scheme, by which messages can . be forwarded by special air service, in cases where civil internees, next-of-kin of prisoners of war, or a prisoner himself, have been without news of their relatives for more than three months. A written or personal application must be accompanied by full details of the date of the last letter received and submitted to the Prisoner of War Enquiry Office at either Wellington, Auckland, Christchurch or Dunedin. If the application is approved an express message form will be issued. This must be accompanied by stamps to the value of ninepence when being returned by the next-of-kin to Headquarters, 96 Tory Street, Wellington. The service is available only to registered next-of-kin, and does not: apply to persons detained by -the Japanese authorities.
